Dear visitor,
this site was used to just store my networking patches for a specialized GNU/*/Linux
distribution sponsored by Stanton & made by Native Instruments for Finalscratch
"digital-DJ" product.
After the original Finalscratch forum closeup, the various complains on the unofficial forum, and my personal test on their new product, Finalscratch 2 at the Plasa Show in London, my interest in a product that never worked decently went down to zero: if you still need my patches for some reason, just click here. If you are looking for a software alternative (you can still use your FS vynils), give a try to Djdecks. If you prefer an "industrial"/"no-brainer" solution, just buy Serato Scratch Live.
Digital vynil saga update: I went crazy and I ordered my SSL with CV02 vynils from the web. BTW: I just sold my "Final Crash"!
Digital vynil saga update 2: SSL is really a polished and fully working product.. recommended! If you live in EU, just buy it on the web from some US shop, as you'll save 1/2 of the money (as I done).. with less than 500 euros I got SSL with five additional vynils for a total of seven (tax included.. what a bargain)!
BMW I-BUS Linux Adventures (Empeg running as CD-changer - aka Ze46peg project)
Speaking instead about working products, I have to say that I'm a very satisfied
owner of a Empeg since some years: one month
ago I swapped my car (a fantastic
BMW E36 318i) for a newer BMW E46 325ci that
lacks DIN module for car-stereo, but instead comes with prefitted/integrated
radio.
After googling a bit and exchanging some email with various guys, I decided
to try to exchange the original 6-disc cd-changer with the Empeg, as commercial
offerings (like Phatbox, iPod
with BMW integration, and so on) was lacking audio formats freedom, extensibility,
sound quality, real integration, customization, text display, and many other
features. I want more in my life, please!
After some weeks of intermittent work, I finnally get something decent to show:

The I-BUS emulator, installation notes, tips on hardware interfacing, etc. need some time to be redefined and I think I'll able to release a "1.0" version with full GPL code & other goodies very soon. Stay tuned.
Update: After something like 5 months of delay, I finnally get some time to write a note here. I'm using the little toy since so much time, and it really rocks. I have to find time to clean up code and pulish there very soon.
